Great is Thy Faithfulness
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
Each day is a fresh start full of novelty. New ideas, new efforts, new mistakes, new victories, new adventures, and maybe most of all, new mercies and compassions from God!
The sun rises to spread His light, the birds sing His praise, the flowers reveal His beauty, and the critters are full of His life. All of Creation rejoices in a new day, and I believe that Christians have more reason to praise than all of God's creatures - we have received His mercy!
You may be bearing yesterday's consequences, but a believer shouldn't carry yesterday's guilt. This morning, the Great Sustainer put breath in your lungs and a pulse in your veins as evidence of His great love and mercy. He is faithful and just to forgive sin and cleanse from unrighteousness, which means we don't have to carry that weight!
You can face today and all it's challenges with the boldness of a forgiven child of God. You don't have to make the same mistakes you made yesterday. You can go forward by faith in a merciful, compassionate God.
You aren't who you'd like to be, but you're not who you were!
