Unashamed to Serve

I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. | Psalm 84:10

There is no shame in serving God, even when it means waiting a lifetime to see the fruit of that service.

The world will resist your lifestyle of serving God. They resist Jesus. They resisted the prophets and church. This world is no friend of God's servants. But when you choose to serve Christ, realize you are in a place of honor!

Many people work in a service-oriented career. You've probably had a job in lawn care, or a restaurant, or cleaning. And our culture certainly doesn't think highly of servitude. However, while an American may be ashamed to have a job emptying garbage cans, he would certainly be unashamed to do that same job in the White House! In sports, I'd guess the water boy of a championship team, or the caddy of a famous golfer, or the pit crew of an accomplished race car driver would be proud of his job!

Don't forget that you serve the highest Being in existence! You can be as bold as Michael the Archangel when you represent this awesome God. We are ambassadors for Christ. Don't allow the unbelieving culture or even carnal Christians mock you as you wait patiently on the Lord. It is they who are wasting the one life God has given them.

Continue to pray. Continue to wait. Continue to serve. God is always, always faithful and sovereign to answer in His own time.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. | Psalm 25:3
