Enough for Everyone

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

A friend just told me about riding a zip line in Jamaica. It was a mile long and lasted several minutes and he soared from over a hilly jungle out over the beach and the ocean water, crossing a cove and landing on the sandy shore. He described this exhilarating ride including the nervousness he felt from atop a bridge looking down the steep hillside. In fact, he said that most everyone seemed to be very nervous about the ride, but they took confidence in the thought that this cable ride had supported literally thousands of other riders and would undoubtedly support just one more.

Eventually, that cable will succumb to the daily friction, and it will have to be replaced. Even strengthened steel has it's limits. But when we talk of the grace of God, there is no limit. Jesus's gift of salvation is sufficient enough to save all of mankind. And more than that, the all-powerful Holy Spirit is capable of guiding, protecting, and providing for every saint.

There may be small reason to hesitate before riding a zip line; however insignificant the reason may be. But there is NO reason to hesitate following Jesus.

He can save. He can cleanse. He can keep. And He will. God can do anything but fail.
